Chaz....assuming you can unbolt the downpipe from the turbo, start by doing that. If you can't, crawl under it and use a sawzall to cut the downpipe off. You will also need to unbolt the brace for the downpipe / catalytic converter from the back of the block; held there with 2 13mm head bolts.
1) jack up the front, pull both wheels CV shafts and the plastic fender lining on the passengers side.
2) take off the plastic cover of the fake firewall to expose your blower motor assembly and what not. Follow the wiring through the fake firewall; it comes to one large plug. Undo that plug, and you've got the whole engine harness separated.
3) Remove the battery and battery tray.
4) Remove all hoses and drain coolant.
5) Unbolt the A/C compressor, remove the top motor mounts and remove the alternator, take the one bolt out of the two passengers side motor mounts, and take the one transmission mount bolt out.
At this point, you can start picking the engine / transmission assembly out as one unit; keep an eye on what starts to get hung up and what is still attached, because you will need to remove stuff like the power steering pump, negative battery cable, and other random stuff. Its not too bad; I've got the process down to a couple hours.
