Managed to get car started in limp mode only today. TCS light on. 5 CEL flashes. Had to pump the accelerator pedal alot and play with the throttle plate in the TB - it appears that the plate always wants to be fully closed - maybe the engine was just getting completely choked. I thought I remembered the plate always wanting to be open slightly (like 5 degrees). One observation I made though is that the plate is very loose. It has 10-15 degrees of play. Doesn't seem right - I though it should be tight on the lever rod. I've always thought about rebuilding the TB and maybe now it looks like I might have to.
