Let me start by saying that "behaving weirdly" is not a very good place to start if you want advice.
What is it doing that makes you say it's behaving weirdly? Is it screaming? Is it smoking? Is it going to different fan speeds for seemingly no good reason? All of those sound weird to me.
Here's what I'd check:
Can you manually adjust the fan speed with the buttons on the ACC unit? Does it go through a normal range without incident? Or, is it not possible to control the fan speed with the ACC unit? (If the later, then search for "fan speed controller". It's a box with a large heat sink in the aquarium.)
Since no codes are being found with a re-calibration, I'd bet it's the fan speed controller (based on the info you have given).
It's also possible that the ACC unit itself is acting up. That means you need other one. I'd recommend e-bay, since their about $800 new, and I just got a perfectly fine one for $25.
Is it just the fan acting up, or is the temperature of the air acting up too? In that case, it might be your temp sensor.
Hope this helps.
