The left side low and high beam headlight bulbs on our 1997 9000CSE would not come on, while the right side headlight bulbs worked normally. I first did the following:
- Replaced headlight relay, lamp control relay and auxilliary
headlight relay with other known good relays. No change.
- Checked left side headlight fuses, which were all ok.
- Replaced both the low and high beam bulbs on the left side
headlight. No change.
- Checked the low and high beam electrical connectors on the left
side headlight. Both electrical connectors had power when the low
and high beam switches were turned on, but bulbs still did not turn
on.
- Finally did a search on the TSN 9000BB and decided to clean up the
left side headlight grounding point on the fender just behing the
front edge of the battery.
VOILA! Problem solved once the grounding point was cleaned up. As
usual, Saabnet once again saved the day (and $$$$ by not having to
take the car to a mechanic).
Ya got to love this site, and the fellow Saab owners who are
generous to help each other out with problems!
