Ahhh, the Ethanol solution to our imported oil problem. When are the burercats in Washington finally going to realise that making fuel, with diesel fuel and fertilizer, is NOT the best use of food crops! Plus, we get poorer fuel mileage. George F. Will, as conservative as they come, wrote in Newsweek two issues ago that the ethanol mirage will save as much imported fuel (3.7%), as if we all kept our tires properly inflated. That's putting every acre of corn in the country currently under cultivation entirely into ethanol, nevermind human or livestock feed. Sorry, I consult with Dairy Farmers, whom have seen their feed costs, fuel cost and fertilizer cost double in the past two years with no end in sight!
