Clutch engaged noise with recent clutch replacement...

So my '94 Aero exhibits what everyone seems to say is throwout (release) bearing noise - when the clutch pedal is "up," a whirring, clattering noise that disappears when i push the pedal in. The noise itself is not very loud and can only be heard at idle in neutral with the air and radio off.
The thing is - the clutch was replaced less than 10,000 miles ago, as I have records that came with the car. Aug 2007, in fact. Could something have gone wrong with the clutch replacement? The parts list shows "clutch kit," which includes the release bearing in it.
Is there any way I can lube the release bearing without yanking the transmission? Should I start by changing the gearbox oil, perhaps? The clutch job on paper is a whopping $2,000, more than I paid for the vehicle. Is there any chance that I'll have to do it again soon? For the record, the clutch engages perfectly and the syncros are all good.
