The Saab radio is known to fail in this manor. You can try to reset the radio by pulling it out and cleaning and resetting the cables, but make sure that you have your radio code. Once the radio fails, you have to either replace with an after market one, or talk to SaabRadio.com about repairs. I when with an after market one from Crutchfield for about the same cost as an repair. The biggest problem with this method is that they don't come with them wire up to connect to the Saab wiring connector. Crutchfield does provide you with a raw kit for an Audi/VW, but you have to wire it up (ask Crutchfield for saab9000.doc, which includes the pin layout of the Saab radio and amp, including pictures). On my 95 CSE 9K, the radio comes with an amp, and you can connect the radio via the amp or directly to the speakers. The problem in my car is that the Saab connector to the amp is a 10 pin connector (but it only uses 9 pins), and the kit comes with a 8 pin connector. I didn't want to hack up my car connector, so I modify the kit connector to allow the Saab connector to plug in (8 of the kit connector directly match the 8 pins on the Saab connector, then need to run one of the power wires to the 9th pin to turn on the amp). If you want to connect the radio directly to the speakers, you have two options, run new wires to each speaker, or wire to the connector, and then pull the connection at the amp and wire in a by pass. I ask Crutchfield if they had a by pass connector kit, but they did not.

Seat heater failures are also common. One of the Saab 9000 sites has instructions on replacing them, but it not simple.
