I've yet to ever get my hands on one and found alternate ways to cope
with nasty systems that involve the use of one...like the SRS light.

Aside of that, years ago I was actually employed by a local Saab shop
for non-automotive work and they had an ancient monochrome-screened
486 PC with a special cable that they guarded with their lives, and
that WAS their TECH II by virtue of just the cable and some software
that ran on that ancient PC for a fraction of the cost of the genuine
article.
(They are still selling for 1000s on fleebay...)

At the time I was driving a C900s and had no clue why I'd ever want to
know more about such a device - and now it is not possible for me to
even ask about it anymore, but it strikes me as odd that nobody at this
board knows more about that idea ?
I have searched and searched and searched and asked all around and it
is very odd to me that nobody knows nuffin about that way to do it ?!
