Went to have my aero inspected in NYC today and it failed due to the o2 sensor, heater circuit, and catalyst not being ready. On Friday, March 28, I re-installed a stage 3 ecu after having replaced the front and rear o2 sensors. I had been plagued by a cel since having a full 3" s.s. downpipe and exhaust and tuned ecu installed. I had swapped out the stage 3 ecu for a stock '97 aero ecu and even after replacing the o2 sensors with new ones, the cel kept coming back on as the rear sensor was showing a wave pattern between .2 and .9 volts. Now that the stage 3 is back in, no cel in five days and approx. 250 miles of varied driving. Any info on how long it takes the system to be "ready", to reset? In NYS, you get charged for the inspection, pass or fail. I paid $37.00 to find out that the car would not pass inspection and the next time I go, it will cost another $27.00. Any suggestions as to how long to wait before going back? Also, when the computer is ready, any chance the cel will come back on? Appreciate any help and thanks in advance.
