AllData has pre-determined labor times and part prices for every car. For this job, the alternator should cost no more than $400 really. However, on http://www.saabsite.com, alternators list for around $175 for your car.
Labor time is 1.5 hrs according to AllData, and this is an exceedingly large amount of time to do the job. If a place charges say $80/hr for labor (which is on the average/high side), then you're looking at no more than $120-$150 for labor.
So, with a saabsite.com alternator and this labor rate, you're looking at a total of around $350 MAX.
