I'll be interested to hear what US experience is - as a UK buyer, I find them excellent. Mostly the currency conversion for a transaction is done by the credit card company. That's a separate issue from the trader's own price in dollars.

For instance, I just looked at a DI unit on their site and the UK price including VAT (value added tax at 17.5%) is £174.98. You would't pay the VAT. The price excluding tax is therefore £148.73, and Elkparts' dollar price is $302.06. That means they priced on 2.03 dollars to the pound, which is pretty much what my Yahoo page says this morning (2.015 in fact). But what it costs you to buy the sterling from the card company is another matter. Even the choice of card might make a difference.

The best bet would be to email or call them about shipping costs - I have spoken in the past to a guy called Julian, very helpful. Something light like lenses could just go in the mail, probably.

If you want any UK-based help don't hesitate to get in touch but I think you'd find ordering from Elkparts a pretty seamless experience.
