As Swedespeed7 notes 6 flashes is code P0130, which is the O2 sensor out of range. Given the work done in replacing an engine, checking the wiring to the sensor makes a lot of sense. However, it doesn't necessarily mean a new one is in order.

The O2 sensor may be working just fine. The ECU faults the sensor if the sensor signal is out of range. The O2 sensor has a very narrow range, so even a little rich or lean will keep the sensor pegged to one side. So, if an air line is leaking or just wasn't connected, the engine would run lean. The ECU would try and compensate based on the O2 sensor saying the car is running lean, but the authority of the O2 sensor is only about 25% of fuel flow. The signal from the O2 sensor can only do so much. So if that doesn't richen the mixture up enough to bring the O2 sensor signal back into range, the ECU will signal an O2 fault, even though the problem is a vacuum leak. The same would be if the engine were running rich due to a bad FPR.

Step 0- inspect the O2 sensor wiring to make sure it is correct.
Step 1 - pull the spark plugs. Is the engine running rich or lean? The spark plugs tell the truth. Next, stick a voltmeter on the O2 signal (not the heater!) and run the engine. A rich signal is near 0.9 volts; a lean is near 0.1 or 0.2 volts.

Now, if the O2 sensor appears to DISAGREE with the engine condition - the O2 sensor says lean but the engine is running rich - then I'd suspect the O2 sensor. But if the sensor and engine agree - a low O2 sensor voltage (lean) and whitish plugs - then the O2 sensor is probably fine, and you need to look elsewhere.

For lean running, check for vacuum leaks and fuel flow issues. For rich, check the FPR.
