hi
i have learned so much with my 1993 saab 9000 cs non-turbo
first i used to have delayed starts, low power, poor cranking
shakey motor when first starting
well,,,went to numerous dealers and they all scratched their heads in wonder.
i took the time to check very carefully all wires and connections and
noticed that my positive battery cable seemed a little crusty
but the terminal looked fine so i went and bought a new 2ft battery wire and terminal and wow what a difference
the car starts excellent all because of that change it is now 8 months later and she's still doing fine.
next problem was the car started acting up on the gears so once again i take her to my local dealer and they are quick to tell me that my clutch is blown so i change the clutch on my own and she still seems to be acting up once again back to the dealer and now they are scratching their heads in wonder so they tell me that my tranny is blown "HOW CAN IT BE BLOWN"
it drives just not like it's supposed to so once again i inspect the
shift coupler like advised on this site and yep thats what it was
bought a new one for $14.00 from pacificforeignparts.com and do not have a problem.she even runs better now with the new clutch.
what i have noticed is that these cars are very sophisticated for their years and just require the regular up keep to keep them going parts do get old and need replacing once upon a time my 9000 is going on 230,000 miles
and she is still strong.good luck all in your saab help searches
if you need any help feel free to E-mail me and i will do my best to help you out.i have done all my own work and none of it has taken me longer than an hour.
