After driving 700 miles April 1st I let the aero sit for a few weeks while I was unpacking and driving a u-haul back from where I was working up north for a year and I've spent the last few weeks unpacking. Last week I got in the 9000 and the resounding thunk thunk thunk thunk above 5 miles an hour was unbelievable. I thought maybe the exhaust was unhinged and hitting the underside but it was still attached. I couldnt find any belts loose, all the lug nuts on the wheels were solid, and I was stumped so AAA towed it to my local indy, where he called me with a "Medical Mystery." Both rear rotors had fractured and "look like they were re-welded along the arc of the fracture."
Has anyone ever heard of this happening? My thought was I wonder if one of the steel wheels was struck by lightning directly or indirectly? (I still have the 15" winter SottoZero's on steelies on the car since I was having the 16" alloy superaero's refinished)
