talk to them first and get an estimate. This is NOT one of their favored jobs. My indy allows for 2-3 hours at the rear end, and has had it take five hours on an especially bad example. He has actually told customers to go to a place like Monroe or something and get a written estimate. Then have them do the work. He's had customers do that and the job done for about $250 even though the job literally took the shop all day.
My indy says his guys all know they will have to cut the bolts off but doing the job without damaging the sway bar makes it harder. It depends on just how bad the rust is. He recommends putting on new sway bar bushes as they are commonly destroyed in the removal process. Be sure the shop you go to has a press that will work for the bushings.
