I agree that here in the USA we know how to build creature comforts! I remember my '62 Chevy had a heater that would roast your feet off in the first 5 miles! Our '97 9K's are definately lacking in that department, and we have three of them. I started my Saab voyage with a '87 900, never could understand how a car built in Sweden wouldn't start below 0 F without being pluged in to a block heater. Had the same issue with my '94 9K NA.
Having said all that, the 9K is the best car I have ever driven in the winter! I pass Subaru's and other 4WD's going in my direction all winter long. The heat/AC ain't perfect for sure, bu I would rate it even lower, like maybe 8 on a 10 point scale. Minor issue.
