Its pretty straightforward. You will need a beam (or engine hoist)to support the motor, then its just a matter of removing the drivers side subframe and dropping the tranny.
Be sure to use a Saab slave, the aftermarket ones tend to fail quickly and this is not a job you want to do again in a couple of months.
Once you are in there, I would replace the rear main seal, which involves taking off the flywheel. You can then inspect and either cut it or replace it, but when I did mine all I had to do was scuff it with 60 grit paper on a rotary sander.
If you use the Haynes manual, the slave mounting bolts are NOT torqued to 16 ft-lbs, more like 6-8.
