The rear jack point is flat metal area immediatly behind the tow loop in the center back of the car. I know what youy mean by it no looking too robust, but keep in mind it is the main attachment point for a trailer hitch, so it is pretty strong. You'll need a jack with good lift as the rear wheels have a lot of travel.
For the calipers, the big thing is remember to back out the pistons with the small allen wrench instead of a c-clamp! Gently pinch shut the brake line before disconnecting so you don't introduce excess air (I use my c-clamp for this, with bits of dowel cut length wise). Other than that it's a pretty standard job, and similar to the fronts.
