Throttle Body vs. Fuel Pump, 94 Aero

So my '94 Aero quit a couple weeks ago while driving; would start but immediately die. Longstanding indy shop, with whom I've had great luck, diagnosed it as a throttle body, and replaced with known good TB, and it ran like a top--for one day. Then I came out from the grocery store and it would crank and start but die immediately, same as before. Now the shop says the fuel pump is out. Any opinions on whether a dodgy fuel pump could cause a mistaken diagnosis or is the TB diagnosis reliable and it's just a coincidence?
