Camry drivers do look bored to death! 70% of them cannot drive either, as funny as that sounds. If a car is in the most left lane of the freeway going 50 mph, most probably its a Toyota. Pay attention and you will see for yourself, its a hillarious detail.

Most people, and I say this by looking at everyone I have known in the time i have owned Saabs, are scared to pick up a SAAB. Its far from mainstream this swedish beast, and that says it all. Most people, I think, means mainstream does it not?

Also, I think that service on SAABs (if you were to go to the dealer everytime) is just as expensive as the Mercedes or BMW, both of which (as car clubs, if you will) have a much higher entry fee (cost of car). The low cost of the SAAB ultimately draws people into a car that they cannot afford to maintain. The end result is that a new SAAB buyer ends up telling horrific stories about how much his car is costing everytime he goes to service - or they don't do the recommended service(trying to avoid dealer trips) and then the car leaves them stranded. Those cars eventually end up on the market with a lot of stuff wrong with them because they were not looked after properly. After a few years of getting used SAABs from auctions, dealers get used to the fact that there is a ton of things that can be wrong with them and they just don't buy them anymore or they bid very little on them. Lack of demand drops the price way down. There is your explanation.

Or, the short version of the above: Cost of service.

Have you noticed what a properly maintained SAAB in very good condition goes for? A lot more than the rest of them.

Cheers!

P.S. No offense to Toyota drivers I hope, I know some of you can drive :)
