A while back I posted a question on what would make a boost gauge behave irratically. It had me stumped. It acted like a pinched hose. So, this weekend I pulled the aquarium and dash pan to trace the hoses and yes there was a pinched hose- between the dash cluster and the upper steering frame.
Saab chose to route the hose between the firewall and the "Y" splitter to the cruise control was up and over the steering support. Removal and replacemet of the dash cluster provides an excellent opportunity to pinch the hose. This I did when I had the cluster out some time back to replace EDU bulbs. I just moved the routing to the inboard side of the the support- much more direct and no chance to pinch the hose.
All the best,
K
