My son has a '98 900 and it has a very minor transmission fluid leak. Now while driving, when he gets to a stop and sits for a few minutes it will have come out of gear and won't go forward or reverse. If he shuts the engine off for a minute or so, restarts it, 9 times out of 10 it will go into gear and he can proceed. He was a little low on fluid but we've since topped it off and added a recommended stop leak/stop slippage. The "check gearbox" light is on now as well.
I just don't undestand the fact that after he shuts it down, that it comes back up and is in gear.
