Testing spark is easy. Pull a plug out, leave the wire connected and lay it on a good ground. Pull the fuel pump fuse so you don't start a fire.
If you get a wrench and break open the fuel line at the regulator you can crank it over and see if fuel squirts out. Again, don't start a fire ok.
Suck, squish, bang, blow. No large vacuum leaks that covers suck. Good compression covers squish. Bang is the tough one. Gotta be somewhere near stoichiometric and have spark at the right time. One wire to the injectors has power when cranking if RPM is detected. RPM signal is a solid blue wire at the coil and throughout the car. Does your testlight blink during crank at the blue wire on the coil?
If you have an RPM signal the ECM will pulse ground to the other wire at the injectors. No RPM signal. no fuel. Noid light very handy to check injector pulses. In other words a test light across one of the injector plugs should blink while cranking.
If you have blinking at the blue wire at the coil and blinking at the injector and fuel pressure and timing and compression the only thing left is blow. A big ol' tater up your tailpipe.
BTW how did you check timing if you can't check spark? You gotta have pulses for a timing light to work.
