So, I finally got an offer that made sense...

93 CSE auto non-turbo with 184K - valued at $2051 plus 10% for accessories (roof rack, snow tires, gas), plus tax and registration fees for replacement vehicle, minus $500 deductible, and we'll wind up with $1930 back...

And, they're giving us the car with a parts title for free.

I'm getting a used Prius cause I'm tired of getting 14mpg in city driving, which is all I do, and the gas savings, based on mileage, should cover the costs of ownership, which I'll finance with my home eq line and deduct the interest... should be cheaper to own/drive, monthly, than the Saab.

The saab i can fix with a used gas tank and a new feed line connector (since the shop broke it removing the tank during the tear down/estimate).

The rear bumper assembly is off the car and I can't find any damage to it, I assume the styrofoam behind the cover was damaged and that was their reasoning for wanting to replace it.

I have three choices:

1. Part it out (most everything, including tranny, is fairly new)
2. Sell it to someone else fixed or as is as a salvage vehicle for registration outside of FL (FL won't register salvage title).
3. Fix it and take it to another state myself to sell, or register (or give to family member, etc..)
3(a) - keep it broken and don't make any decisions for awhile.

It seems this might have worked out in the end, I just have to decide what to do with the Saab.
