came today and confirmed that there was no damage to the bumper assembly, other than some scratches from the impact which he said were insignificant given other scratches on the bumper, confirmed that insurance company's authorized repair center and adjuster had falsified damage to vehicle to increase estimate...
he said he would request gas tank replacement and see, he was surprised insurance company insisted on installation of a new gas tank.
we'll see what happens next, he said a used gas tank plus labor would be less than our deductible, so he didn't know what the insurance company would do now.
we'll have to see, they strung us along for two weeks insisting on totalling the vehicle until we finally decided to just buy a prius and deal with a salvage vehicle. now, if they deny the claim, we'll have to sue them or something.
i doubt, however, they want any trouble after what they've caused us, so we'll have to see. naturally, we'll file a complaint with the insurance commission about the shop and the original adjuster who claimed he'd personally inspected the vehicle and said it appeared the rear body panel was damaged.
