please consider *not* using carb cleaner or brake cleaner. Each of these has the capability of melting plastic, and there is plastic in the AIC starting at the electrical connector and going inside the body of the unit. If you get an air leak because the plastic breaks down... the AIC is shot.
Try WD-40 or PB Blaster, it may take overnight or several applications but much better long term. Now if Freon TF was still around that would be my first choice... alas...
After you get the shutter inside nice ahd free and moveable do this. put your thumb over one of the ports on the AIC and your mouth on the other and blow. It should be pressure tight. If it leaks feel over the plastic connector for a leak.
There was a very long thread on the c900 board (I only do c900 and 9000s) on this recently and the point is to *clean* the unit and *not* lubricate it. Surface lubrication attracts dirt, which fouls the unit. It if was a "needs lubrication item" it would be on the maintenance schedule.
