150K and change. And there was a bunch of trailer towing in there. Just a utility trailer, but it had 1000 to 2500 pounds in it on several occasions. Just short distances, but on shocks that were old to begin with, that didn't help them!

So anyway, how could I tell... well, a few ways.

When I'd go into a corner/curve at a speed "above the speed limit" I could feel the outside rear sort of sink down-- taking more of the weight trasfer than it used to. Definitely didn't feel right, especially with a bump in mid-corner. The car felt less composed. On rough roads the rears would compress more than "normal" and the car would pitch a bit. It was actually getting kind of "wallowy" IMHO. The basic ride was still smooth, but was softer/cushier than I like, and definitely softer than it had been. Driven fast on a back road the car lacked the crispness it used to have. On a fast on/offramp the lean was too much and the rear was really sagging. Tire wear was still even, but driving briskly wasn't as much fun as it used to be.

As for your car...
Within any given make of manufacturer, I think all the part numbers are the same for the presently available 9000 shocks/struts for Aeros or CSE/CS. They certainly were when I looked on a variety of sites before deciding on the Sachs kit. You could always get some Konis or Bilsteins. When I was looking into the options, I figured out that the Touring version of the Bilstein is similar to the standard Aero shocks. Not sure of the specific differences, though. That's what I was going to do until I decided on the whole kit.
