Hello 9K fan and friends, new issue thats go me concern; It probable had it all along but know I think I finally got in sinc with my 9K., so I can almost detect anything not working the way it should. So here is what I detect; small play at the stering wheel, Allow me to explaint it, as best as I can. With engine on or off steering whell has a small play that requires no effort (Like turning steering when car is jack-up)before the wheels actually begin to turn, it turns either left or right, I would say (Using a protractor) about 1° to 3° this movement has no effect on the wheel (Wheels dont move at all during this steering wheel play movement) So basically I have to make very small corrections all the time as I am driving on a long straight road (Like Grand-paps 57 Ford pick-up); Here is my question; Has anyone had this fault present. Had it check visually and the Mechanic said that it was the control arms(That come off the steering rack into the wheels)but I disagree because the movement is to light or too small to the touch it almost feels like the steering colum shaft has play, but can say for sure; Had similar issue with my 900 and I adjuted de steeing rack adjustment and that was it. I dont want to replace control arms and have to realing it, and find out it was something else, Did try to adjust Steering rack but, found out how litle space there is under there, so basically I did not have any trouble getting the 22mm socket in the ajustment cap-bolt, but its lock by the exterior crown looking nut.(Its doing ist job well) Just need some encorangment before I go at it again or should just replace the control arms first wich I really dont want. Any sugestion or very welcome.
Regard
Ganzo
