a couple of things. do you have the "check valve" saab speak for PCV valve on the top of the engine? Vacuum line from the small connector on the two headed fitting on the valve cover to the valve (points towards the throttle body) and more vacuum line connects to the TB? Have you checked that it functions? remove it and either put a small clean section of tubing or go commando... blow into the end that the arrow doesn't point towards, it should pass air. then reverse and blow against the arrow, it should *not* pass air. if it fails either test, replace it. you can use just about any one way valve, don't let the local autoparts counter guy get wrapped around the axle on this, no PCV valve listed on Saabs...

If this valve is either missing or not working properly you can get a pressurized crankcase, the net result is lubrication oil in the turbo bearings can get blown past the seal and into the exhaust side resulting in oil smoke.

The other possibility is that the seal in the turbo has failed, if the impeller is ok (aka has not been damaged by contact with the housing) you can get a rebuild kit for about $100 from several site sponsors and DIY rebuild. It's pretty straight forward.
