On my new-to-me Aero, I needed to change the head gasket. As JEM points out, you'll want a torque wrench (probably already have one) and the proper torx socket.
You shouldn't have any problems if you've done a transmission, etc. I used a C900 manual and online info.
As to driving it, be careful, and watch the temp and oil. I would probably drive it though... just be careful.

'93 Aero, 5spd. 97K. Head gasket went at 44K in '03. Yes, it had 44K in ten years... which caused the head gasket to go. Coolant had gone "bad". That's all I can guess anyway. I saw it as a learning experience, and well worth it a car that was/is so nice.
