A tankful of gas scares the willies out of me.
Things I wouldn't do -
I wouldn't use ANY electrical device. Most electric motors will make sparks, even a battery-powered one. Kerosene isn't very voltatile; gas is. Things that work for kerosene don't necessarily work for gas. Battery powered motors still make sparks.
A gravity syphon would be the only method. Make sure you've got enough containers to hold everything, and that you can stop the flow. Pay close attention to what is downhill from where you are working.
I wouldn't do it with the car ANYWHERE near the house, other cars, trees, bystanders, etc.
Fire extinguishers. Lots of them. OK, I'm paranoid.
I wouldn't use the gas in a car. I'd use it for the lawnmower, snow-blower, chainsaw. After 6 months, a lot of the good stuff has evaporated. Good enough for a lawnmower.
