I'm not getting heat to either seat. Does the car have to be running and someone sitting in the seat in order for the heat to work? What does the temperture need to be at in order for the seats to work? It is 63 degrees F outside right now.
A few months ago the passengers side seat was the only seat working but now neither work. When I turn on both seat heater switches, I can hear a click for each one. The passenger switch only clicks when I go from 0 to 1 and the driver seat only clicks when I go from 1 to 0.
I measured resistance on the passengers seat between the yellow (pin 2) and black wire (pin 5) going to the seat and got 3 ohms. I did the same for the driver side and got 0 ohms. I'm guessing the passengers side seat works because my wife can feel it. I can't seem to feel anything. It is really subtle if anything. Therefore, I will concentrate on the drivers side seat for now.
I removed the drivers side seat and measured resistance for the temp sensor. (blue pin 1 and black pin 5). I got 1387 ohms. With the switch turned to the #3 position I checked voltage between the yellow wire (pin 2) and ground. I got 12 volts. With the switch turned to off, I get 0 volts, normal. With the car running, I tried to measure the voltage of the ground return with the seat on. I touched one of the probes to ground and the other to the black return wire (pin #5). I get 0 volts. I am supposed to get 0.1 volts?
I pulled the cover off the seat and I don't see any burn marks. The black wire that twists all over the top of the seat is in tact.
Is there a central relay switch that controls both seats? If so, where is it?
