Really, Lucas stuff can't hurt?

Saabnutt, are you sure this stuff doesn't have the risk of doing harm? As you say it's thick. I think ATF is used in part as a pumping medium and in part to push tiny valves open and closed in small passages. ATF is a thin high-detergent oil. Adding a thick goo would likely thicken it I'd assume. Is that better? And if so, why doesn't ATF come already thickened?
Does Lucas say how its additive is supposed to work?
Lucas makes at least three different additives, all expensive, and all look as if they were the identical thick sticky oil. One for engines, one for power steering, one for auto trannys (that also claims on its packaging that it's good for manual trannys too - - !?!). Widely different applications calling I'd think for different approaches. But not from Lucas anyways.
I'm a skeptic; I know from many posts by you that you're a sold fan but I've just got to say, on this bit of advice from you, maybe, maybe not. On many other things you're spot on and very helpful.
