ummm you can just go to a junk yard and remove the mirror from another car, there is a hole on the bottom side of the mirror mount, you put a small straight blade screw driver in that hole and catch the toothed wheel (very similar to an inch of flywheel) and push it forwards or backwards and it unlatches the mount for the mirror, with the mirror if you have one, and you then unplug the wires from the heating portion. if you are going to glue back on 1) do it with the unit out, 2) be cautious about using alot of any silicon product, it seemed to allow or induce a shaking in the mirror that was annoying.
