there is a procedure somewhere (do a search) on retorqueing the head bolts. IIRC, you will in fact loosen the bolts one at a time and then retorque it, and then move on to the next one. Best to follow the procedure to the letter.
where are you leaking oil? sometimes it's just the valve cover and or valve cover gasket...
