I've come in late on this, but that's never stopped me before.
Assuming it's a Trionic system, yes, pin 1 of the BPC goes to Pin 26 of the ECU, and Pin 3 goes to Pin 2 of the ECU. Pin 2 of the BPC goes to fuse 5.
It's probably not a bad wire, but a bad connector. Wires don't usually break. Things break where they are already broken - where two pieces mate. A connectors. the BPC goes through 4 connectors to get to the ECU.
The four connectors are on the BPC, H10-25 (behind LH headlight), H70-1 (engine bay behind bulkhead), and the ECU connector. The H10 has 10 pins, and the H70 has 70 pins.
BPC Pin 1 (green wire) goes to H10-25 pin 3, to H70-1 pin 53, and to ECU pin 26.
BPC Pin 2 (grn/red) goes to H10-25 pin 5, to fuse 5.
BPC Pin 3 goes to 10-25 pin 4, to H70-1 pin 54, to ECU pin 2.
I'd find the intermediate connectors (H10, H70), and start there. Look for a pushed-back pin or socket.
What year is this car? These numbers are based on a 1997.
