I know I ask this question, and some may think what is he doing???

I just had a guy drive over from Yuma to San Diego so I could read his codes and poke around on his car because no one in Yuma could spell Saab. It had several issues. One was that the crusie control didn't work, another the AC didn't work (and he had had the R134 upgraded done to it not too long ago), and another was it didn't boost very well. Oh it was also in LHM and he had replaced the safety valve. Read the codes with my Tech-II, decided that a couple were no longer an issue, did some trouble shooting and found a couple of items and fixed them, and cleared all the codes possible. One was a Perm code. Out of LHM, drives well, AC works, no cruise, boost into the yellow only.

Again, the reason I ask about the cruise control functioning, his is a five speed with TCS and the switch on the clutch pedal was not working properly. I unplugged the two contact connector and put a jumper in it. Cruise control works and the boost is back. Of course now it knocked, the plug gap was excessive, and the air filter was overdue too. Now it runs better and not as hot either.

The car's electronics, when detecting clutch or brake pedal depressed, will kick out of cruise, and will also stop boost as a runaway engine is not needed with the brakes or clutch engaged.

So, does the cruise control work?

Not saying the ECU is bad, but maybe the switch at the clutch or brake is not working properly?
