Actually there were also late model 9000s with the 2.0 engine (B204I/E/L) outside the states. Especially in Europe they sold well.
FM54003 is the transmission called for the B204E LPT version, which my car originally was.
As far as I can tell from my research it's actually the same transmission as in 2.3 9000s, just with a different final drive ratio. So the individual gear ratios and gear box strength should be the same.
It should be pretty plug & play. The drive shafts are different, but that shouldn't be a problem.
