Could be a dirty sensor assly. I thought so as well on my 97 The ABS light would come on after a long right hand turn!? and turn off when the motor was restarted. Sensors DO go bad they start at 1200 ohms (for the fronts) and service spec is 900 ohms. My indie maintains there's NO buying used sensors... regardless of the imaginary $ saved.
Cleaning is relatively easy, as the sensors are retained by a single 10mm headed bolt w/ washer (don't forget to replace the washer as there are NO extra/unecessary parts).
Undo it, pull out the sensor (a 1/2" thick 1 1/2" long stainless cylinder) wipe it off and then while spinning the wheel spray WD40 (or yr Prefereed Goo) into the sensor hole, This will clean 80/90% of the rotor effortlessly. Saving a brake removal chore. Repeat on all wheels :-).
Also note that there can be connector issues with the other end of the sensor wires. (main unit is behind the ashtray)
Explaining why my ABS light came 'on' on long turns :-)
