It is relatively easy to check the cam timing. On the engine side edge of the crank shaft multigroove pully, there is a small notch. If you line this notch up with the small rib at 12 o'clock, that is behind the pulley on the timing chain cover, the engine is at TDC. The notch and rib can be seen from above, push the belt toward the fender for a better view. There is a 50-50 chance the crank will have to be rotated 360 degrees for the marks on the cams to show. The cam marks should line up with the marks on the cam bearing caps. Also, the are radial marks on the chain cover side of cam sprockets, right at the chain teeth. There should be 15 chain links between the marks on the sprockets.
