You'll do fine electrically with your group 48R. It is about 14% larger than the group 34R battery that was original equipment, and your 96 9000 CS needs all the battery it can get.
The 48R is about 1-1/2" longer than the battery tray, so it must be overhanging the tray at one or both ends. The tray has a metal lip that with time and vibration might cut into the plastic case of the battery. If it cuts deeply enough to release acid, then the battery will die young and make a corrosive mess. Some 1/4" thick plastic or nyon spacers between the battery and the tray would help take the pressure off of the lip.
You might check from time to time to make sure the battery stays in place given the generic clamp and the straddling of the battery tray.
I didn't know that the 48 size was available with reversed terminals. I'll remember that when my 34R wears out.
