on my 88, when my windshield cracked and they came to my driveway for replacement...
we found that the metal trim around the outside edges of the window had a lot of rust where the glass connects to it.
I'm glad i was there to see the process, and the glass-tech guy and me decided that, instead of trying to replace the A-pillar (oh my god expensive) and argue about the warranty....
he used a ton of the heated sealant stuff around the edges and did the best he could and we decided not to go with a warranty (they would have left me without a windshield otherwise, as the rust means the windshield could crack at a eariler time due to the stress on the glass, etc)
anyways, hang around and watch if you can it may be tne only time you get to check for rust in those places.
the rubber seal trim was new and attached to the new glass, and came all as one piece for me. i didn't ask for any tint but got a 5 inch blueinsh stripe across the top, which is nice i think,
good luck
