i have one 9000 and 2 keys, one key works much better than the other.
i used to drive VW buses, they are famous for ignition cylinder issues. I still find myself making little circles with the end of the key wile turning it to start. it helps.
a little lube may help too. it'll get stiff in the cold, but it frees up sticking mechanisms.
also try turning the ky over. sometimes key fobs encourage using one side up on the key, turning it over may help.
