The car is a '95 9k aero 5spd, no TCS. I am in the middle of replacing the oil filler tube (dipstick tube). I have removed the old. I have started inserting the new one but I'm stuck. First question is, the o-ring at the bottom...does it butt up to the end of the tube or is it supposed to go inside of the tube? I've got two problems, 1) the tube is starting to buckle from heating it up to where it will slide downwards. 2) There is too much height up top to be able to clip the tube to the intake manifold. I've got about an 1/8" of space at the bottom for the tube to slide which it isn't because plastic deformation. At the top it is still about 1/2" or more too high in order to clip into the manifold clip. Can I remove the tube and cut some off the bottom to make up for the extra height? Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
