One of my more annoying habits is picking up bits of shiny walnut trim for my Anniversary. About 3 weeks ago I bid on UK fleabay for a solid walnut shift lever for my automatic. I'd never seen one before, the photo looked very convincing. I didn't win, it went too high, well over 100 GBP.
Just wondered if anyone else had come across these, were they a Saab item or maybe someone made them up? Next time I'd probably bid higher.
As I design furniture and have access to specialist workshops I could maybe get one made but getting the colour would take time and it would certainly cost more than a hundred quid!
PS it always irks me when people refer to this stuff as "wood effect" as if it was plastic imitation - Saab used good walnut veneers and some of the stuff, like the auto transmission lever surround, is technically problematic and pretty well done.
