I suppose it depends on how picky you are. You are at least picky enough to not like your current paint, but you'd be surprised how much a quality paint job can cost. Macco has been around for years, so they must be doing something right, but if you consider yourself a discerning owner, you will quickly notice little things like:
overspray where it shouldn't be.
new paint chips larger than the old ones
you will learn the definition of orange peel
I had a Miata repainted (full color change in every nook and cranny) with a very high quality paint and a top notch painter and we did it on his timeline (partly to reduce costs). The whole job was about $4500. Respraying in the same color and only on the exterior might have run closer to $3000.
