Just thought I'd post what seems to be a success with the new (p/n 32025038) synthetic transmission fluid. I have tried this before with my 91 and the results were horrible. Could barely shift into 2nd and eventually I switched back to 10w40 dino. Both times I performed the recommended procedure using 1L extra and a bit of spinning to flush out the old oil. I can't be sure what the state of the fluid in the tranny was (or even what type it was) but I can say that some pretty gross sludge came out. It almost looked like anti-seize grease it was so thick. There was a bunch of it on the magnet that took a pointed shape due to the particles in it. Now the shifting is smoother than ever and I feel a lot better about the next 175K. I was not too thrilled at the $60+ in oil, but I figured if it saves me a trans swap it's worth it.
