As Saabnutt says, make sure you've got the bolts off from under the DI. If you can see the spark plugs and see there are no bolts left, you're OK.
The valve cover is held to the head with a gasket and depending on the previous maintenance, a bunch of sealant. I assume you have a new gasket- the old gasket rarely survives valve cover removal. A little careful prying at one end will start the valve cover moving, and you can go from there. Yes, it will be stuck down hard. However, short of gouging up the head from real hamfisted screwdriver prying action, you won't damage it. You can cut a slit in the gasket with a razor at one side, and then lever in something like a putty knife. Once you get it lifted, it goes from there.
As Saabnutt noted, don't overtorque the bolts. I believe they are on the order of 11 ft-lbs.
