Adding power and, above all, torque to your automatic CSE will always be a risk for all the reasons you know - the gearbox is up against its limit and I know from personal experience that they can fail (I've paid for 2 rebuilds over the years). But plenty others have done it and lived to tell the tale. You pays your money and takes your choice.
Maptun certainly used to tailor ECUs for automatic cars and I've always been a fan of their software but I think even they put max torque up by 25% as part of their stage 1 upgrade, 245 bhp/400 NM. Definitely worth an email or a phone call but no-one's going to warrant your transmission!
Maybe you should just fit the TD04, add a manual Aero ECU and snip the wire that tells the ECU it's in an auto car. 225 bhp and 10% more torque. (I'm assuming that even Aero manual ECUs have this circuit, if they don't there's no harm done anyway). Someone will have done this, let's hope they post on the subject. But in terms of cost, and as you can't put unlimited power through the box, a specially tuned ECU on its own might make more sense, perhaps?
