When I park my 9k facing downhill, it always forces the gas gauge to read lower than it should. If I have about 1/4 tank left, it will usually turn the gas pump light on, and sometimes the EDU message (the arrow), too. I'm betting if you had fuel, it will start up with no problem.
Interesting that my 9-3 'vert seems to be the opposite: if I park uphill, the gauge seems to read lower until it levels out.
